A country cottage break is a particular type of holiday - it is self catering which means that only the cottage is rented for a short period of time, generally 3 to 14 days. Because it is a complete functioning holiday home, there is a fully equipped kitchen for everyday living.
Guests who rent the country cottages, buy in their groceries and fresh food much as they would in their own homes and cook for themselves. |

Family country cottages
Three factors make holidays in country cottages attractive to families:
1. Because it is self catering, the expense of eating out can be avoided completely if people want to do so.
2. There is ample accommodation and floor space for children to play, as they would in their own homes. There is also usually a garden.
3. Country cottages in popular holiday destinations such as the Lake District, Devon, Cornwall or the Cotswolds will have a huge number of places for days out to ensure that everyone has a good time. |
